Cushman & Wakefield – Completed Project

We are pleased to announce the completion of a 6,000 sq ft refurbishment project for property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield at its Manchester HQ.

The project took seven weeks to deliver and saw the firm’s premises on the third floor of One Marsden Street transformed to accommodate a modern, flexible approach to working. This included the specification and installation of touchdown tables or hot desks, individual high focus zones created with solo working pods as well as collaboration spaces. In addition, an attractive new kitchen has been created with bespoke breakfast bar and a games area complete with pool table.

Designed by Valerie Sandiford the scheme aimed to modernise the office through the use of contemporary furniture, light fittings and floor finishes. A feeling of space was achieved by reducing the number fixed desks and increasing the amount of loose furniture pieces including kitchen tables, open shelving and collaboration clusters. An extensive planting scheme was used to bring the outside in and tie into the muted green and blue tones throughout.

David Leah, director at Flexible Business Interiors, said: “FBI has proudly partnered Cushman & Wakefield in a number of fit outs for its clients over the years and also delivered the original refurbishment of the office when Cushman & Wakefield relocated to One Marsden Street back in 2017.

“Workplaces are fast becoming more dynamic and flexible in their set up to allow team members to achieve a better work life balance which can support improved mental health and boost productivity. Time in the office is focused around collaboration and knowledge sharing, as well as providing great spaces to meet clients.”

Tim Aitchison, Partner & Head of North West Building Consultancy at Cushman & Wakefield, added: “The idea behind the latest revamp of our Manchester office was to provide a working environment that better supported a flexible working style – something that our team are keen to reap the benefits of. This meant introducing a variety of work settings such as hot desks, quiet pods and open collaboration zones where teams can come together for shared tasks.

“Working with FBI on this project has been straight-forward and we are delighted with the end result. The space is far better suited to our current working style, reflects our brand and provides the team with plenty of choice in terms of how and where they work. The quality of the fit out and furnishings is extremely high, and as a result, we know that this great workspace will last.”
