Project
Flexible Business Interiors was appointed by PZ Cussons to deliver a transformational refurbishment of its global HQ on Aviation Way, Manchester. The circa £1m project was designed by incognito, project managed by In4m and covered the ground and first floor of PZC’s building. It took just 14 weeks to complete.
Works included some stripping out of the existing fit out, followed by an extensive programme of improvements to deliver the client’s vision of ‘the office of tomorrow’. Led by FBI, a large team of sub-contractors installed a new ground floor reception area, open plan office floor complete with formal and informal gathering spaces, staff restaurant and gym.
The main office floor takes inspiration from some of PZC’s leading UK brands and features a fresh, vibrant Original Source themed gathering space designed to boost energy and promote wellbeing, while a suite of collaboration areas showcase a richer ‘Imperial Leather’ colour palette. Traditional desking areas exist for those who like routine and a place to call ‘home’, as well as ‘focus’ zones for individuals looking for a quiet place to work.
The project also sees the total overhaul of a large communal meeting area which now features bespoke articulating and expanding joinery walls, creating a truly multifunctional space for staff to hack and adapt to suit their specific requirements.
Connectivity was a key element of the brief and so the very latest online working technologies were installed to ensure the highest level of connectivity was achieved for the benefit of local employees adopting hybrid working practices, as well as global partners.
Kieran Hemsworth, UK Managing Director at PZ Cussons, said: “Over the course of the build programme, which has been unobtrusive, well managed and delivered with real finesse by Flexible Business Interiors, the excitement has been growing and we can’t wait to share our new space with colleagues and visitors alike.”
Matt Stripe, Chief HR Officer: “I am so proud of this place and what the team has been able to achieve. Firstly, it’s just a great space to be in, but it’s also a fantastic environment for employees in terms of their wellness and wellbeing.”
