Ashtrom Properties UK appointed Flexible Business Interiors to fit out 4,000 sq ft across the ground floor of one of Manchester’s prime office buildings, No. 8 First Street. The project was won through a competitive tender process managed by IN4M Property Consultants and completed in Jan 2023 following an eight week build programme.
The instruction saw the creation of a vibrant new reception space featuring a variety of break out spaces, meeting rooms, a mini auditorium and café, and its striking design brought warmth and comfort to the double height lobby as well as offering useful amenities for the property’s occupiers.
A bold colour palette, natural wood details and planting were used to soften the existing concrete flooring and sleek black reception desk, while the high-level textiles have brought the ceiling height down and created a more comfortable space to spend time in. A bespoke wooden pavilion has broken up the floorplate and provides a number of work settings and a small café serves quality refreshments.
Delivered in an occupied building, a carefully considered phased approach was used to ensure the reception area could remain open and accessible for tenants and visitors, as well as out of hours working to limit overall disruption.
