Flexible Business Interiors was appointed by M&G Real Estate, via Hollis, to deliver significant refurbishment works at 101 Embankment.

Completed in two phases over a period of 12 months, the team brought two office floors up to Cat A standard, made improvements to the building’s amenities and then created a light, modern reception area featuring a double height ceiling, mezzanine space, neutral colour palette and faux trees. The scheme was designed by AXI Studios. In addition, a cycle store and shower facilities were installed to the rear of the building by repurposing an unused storage room.

The 167,500 sq ft office building remained occupied and in operation while teams were on site, and Flexible Business Interiors worked hard to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.

As part of the strip out works ahead of the reception refresh, FBI were able to donate six Italian leather sofas to Sue Ryder, the British palliative, neurological and bereavement support charity. The furniture items were destined for the skip, but the donation has allowed the team to reduce waste created by the job and helped raise much needed funds for the charity.

“Delivery of 101 Embankment within tight timescales and an occupied building was a challenging prospect for the whole team, but Flexible Business Interiors worked tirelessly to meet each challenge with a positive attitude and a workable solution. The end result is that the building now boasts a fantastic ground floor reception area which has been created with quality materials, expert workmanship and attention to detail.”
