Inspiring Future Construction Professionals

FBI have recently spent some time at a Greater Manchester primary school to explain some of the career opportunities available within the construction industry.

Business Development Manager, Andrew Keating, spent an afternoon with pupils from Year 4 and their Teacher, Jade Wong, at The Valley Community Primary School in Bolton.

This is an Ofsted “outstanding” school with a range of multicultural pupils from a disadvantaged area.

After a talk about the various roles, and the typical education routes into the industry, the kids tried their hand at re-designing their classroom, using Autocad. We’re not sure if some of the designs will receive approval from the Headteacher though!

“Mr Keating has inspired me by making me interested in construction. I didn’t know that this involved designing the insides of buildings. I think I will be good at this job in the future because I enjoy working on computers and I am good at planning.
